After reading a few blog posts this morning about the guys behind the blogs, I decided I needed to hop in and tell you all about Devin. (If you’re new and wondering who the girl is behind the blog, read these posts)
The Guys behind the Blogs is a link up party hosted by Betsy, featuring the men in our lives who are behind the scenes of our blogs.
Devin is a big part of this blog. Originally, when we launched the blog we intended it to be a husband/wife duo blog, with both of us writing posts. After we got going though, we decided to have me be the face of the show. Plus, he’s busy being an engineer at work and a dad at home. He does have 2 posts though, and his post on removing your own pageviews in Google Analytics is one of our most “googled” blog posts (it’s a good one, you should read it. We tried many tutorials online, and none of them worked. Ours works like a charm).
Anyway, on with the interview Questions.
All about Devin, the man behind Blog Ambitions
1. Have you ever had a blog, or have you ever considered starting one?
YES! I started a blog back in 2008. I forgot about it until 2010 when I stumbled upon my post. I left a comment. You should check it out.

(In his spare time, Devin daydreams what kind of blog he or I can start next. He’s always looking for the next big thing. One day he’ll have a blog of his own!)
2. What do you think about Kristie’s blog?
I like it. And she likes it. I think she has done a really good job with it. If anybody has any questions about how to start a blog and make it successful, then they haven’t read her posts!
3. What is your favorite post that Kristie has written?
Kristie would genuinely answer this question, “This post because I think it has helped the most people and I enjoy being able to help people be successful.” But I am going to be honest here, I need to go check our analytics to see which one brings in the most income to answer this question!
4. If you could be a member of any band, which one would it be?
…Good question
5. Valentine’s Day is on the horizon – are you the date planner type or do you fly by the seat of your pants? Do you have anything planned for February 14 this year?
Uhm, is my wife going to read this??? I am a planner… 😉
6. Tell us about a date-night-gone-wrong for you and your wife. If it’s funny, all the better!
All of our dates are perfect. We put all these movies like “while you were sleeping” and “The vow” to shame.
5. And let’s cover all the topics…sports…who are you rooting for in the Superbowl and why?
Seahawks!!! Because they are the best of course! Everyone knows that. (I’m sure you weren’t surprised to read that, based on our blog’s current colors.)
Devin is super supportive of this blog. He helps me with ideas, he helps me prioritize all of my crazy plans, he proofreads my posts, and lets me talk blog talk at the dinner table. He’s a keeper.
Here’s a few of my favorite pictures of Devin:

Wonderful post Kristie! You are inspiring me to write a post about my husband…
You should! I think Betsy is going to do her Guys Behind the Blog series every month, so make sure to link up when you do!
Thanks so much for linking up! I love that you two blog together and that he’s so involved! So cool 🙂
You’re welcome! I’m glad he helps out so much too!
What a cool idea, a few weeks back i was thinking about interviewing the teens in my house, and seeing this, I think I will…..
I love how he doesn’t have a favorite blog post but rather which one makes the money 🙂
That would be fun to see what they say! Yeah… Devin likes the posts that make me money…
I love when I read that the guy behind the blog is super supportive of you/the blog endeavors. I think when you’re a working family especially that’s the only way it will work!
Agreed! It’s a team effort!
This is so, so sweet 🙂 You both sound so supportive of each other!
Thanks!
I love this!! I can see Devin saying number five, word for word! Oh how I miss you guys!
Haha, it is a typical Devin answer. We miss you too! One day we’ll all get together again.
i love that our husbands have the same name, and same spelling! that picture of Devin and your little one as a newborn is PRECIOUS. and the valentine’s day “uhhh is my wife going to read this” part was so funny!!
It’s a good name. Devin never gets it when people spell it with an O! Thanks for stopping by Julie!
AW I love that you interviewed the hubs for this—it’s so fun getting to know the men behind the blog as well as the ladies, especially when they’re so supportive!
Thanks! It was fun to read yours too!
This is so fun! I love how supportive Devin is of your blog, I think that really makes a huge difference in a blog’s success!
Agreed! It is nice to have something we’re on the same page on and both excited about!
That was a good read. I never really thought about ‘the guys behind the blog,’ but I’m glad you wrote about him. He seems like a good, supportive, husband and father.
Thanks Erica! Blogging has a big impact on the whole family – because most of it is done from home. It was fun for me to read all of the “guys behind the blog” posts.
