New Blogs:
The Recovering
About:The Recovering is a blog written by Jill Kucera. Jill’s blog inspires me. Her writing comes from the heart and she genuinely writes so that her experiences can help others. She launched her blog in October and has written beautiful posts since. In her very first post, Jill wrote, “I’ve gone back & forth with this whole blogging idea… However, I feel like the Lord’s given me a story to tell, a story of His patience, His pursuit of me, and mainly of His unending love for me…So this blog will be about disorders & addictions, of moments lost, and dark valleys. But more importantly, it will be about my recovery of laughter, life, relationships… And mostly, my rediscovering of LOVE.” You can read the full post here.
What I’m loving: I love the focus of Jill’s blog. She’s isn’t just writing about everything under the sun, but has a purpose. I really like that all of her posts are genuine and evoke emotion. I think she will inspire people for the better!

Work. Play. Bake.
About: After reading blogs for a long time, Lindsay started her own blog in November. Her blog is a lifestyle blog focusing on her life as a 20 something professional living in LA. I follow her on Twitter and she always is up to fun and exciting things. She shares her travels, food & recipes, and favorite things.
What I’m loving: Her domain name. Seriously, who thinks of a domain name that good and it is actually still available? It perfectly describes what her blog is about. I also like her color scheme. Devin will be the first to tell you that I am a sucker for the teal/turquoise/aqua colors. What are your blog colors?

The Sweetest Roots
About: The end of December / beginning of January was a popular time for new blogs to show up! The Sweetest Roots is among them. Marie Savage is the author of the Sweetest Roots and she is a pastry chef, wife, mama, birth Douala, and now a blogger. She has a goal for each month of the year she will be adding a new way for her family to become more self-sufficient. You all remember how hard the first few months of blogging are, so go show her some blog love!
What I’m loving: I love that her blog is a spring-board for her business, Douala and birth services. Many of her posts have to do with baby related topics (understandable since Marie is a new Mom herself!) and those posts support her services.

Improved Blogs:
These bloggers recently switched to self-hosted WordPress.
Kati-Rose
About: Kati blogs about life, Music, travel, fashion, pop culture, art, entertainment, and photography.
We moved Kati’s blog over from wordpress.com to self-hosted WordPress back in November. She lets her sense of humor shine through her posts and often shares funny GIFS.
What I’m loving: I love her focus. Noticing a trend today? I really like reading blogs where it is obvious what niche they fit in. As far as design, I love her black “sticky” nav bar. It really catches your attention and directs you to the links.

Robb Restyle
About: Kristy Robb is a talented lady who shares her creations, decoration, and renovations on her blog. Robb Restyle relocated to self-hosted WordPress back in December from blogger. Kristy is hoping to pursue new sponsors and become an official blogger for a large company. Some companies will only work with blogs that are self-hosted and others are flexible, but take you more seriously. Kristy used the opportunity to change the colors of her blog and I love how they turned out!
What I’m loving: Robb Restyle is beautiful. She picked a perfect theme to show case her beautiful images. Seriously, you will drool over Kristy’s site. I love that she uses the dynamic homepage. When you land on her home page, you automatically know what her main blog topics are and important pages you should visit – like her shop!

Life With Grace
About: Amanda switched her blog over from blogger this month! She recently wrote a post about 5 things you should know before you switch to WordPress. Amanda blogs about faith, fashion, food and her cute family. Her daughter is just a month older than Doran, so it’s fun for me to read her posts!
What I’m loving: Her Popular Posts page. I love the gallery format and that it is sorted by categories. I also really like her use of post excerpts on her main page with 1 full image and an excerpt from the post. As far as content, I am very impressed with Amanda’s recent series she started. Sometimes it is hard to share personal experiences with others, but I think that doing so will help others, so I’m glad that she took that leap.

Head over and check these blogs out and give them some blog love! What do you like about their blogs? What can you learn about blogging from them?
Pin it for later!
Kristie, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate these posts. I took your words to heart and used Robb Restyle as my inspiration to move back to a static homepage with topics instead of recent posts.
I know I have a lot more to do (and a lot more things to learn) but your posts like this really help to inspire me. Luckily the Genesis/Dynamic Website Builder child theme I have allows me to make these tweaks fairly easily without having to learn much coding, but the inspiration is what I really benefit from. Thanks again!
Thanks Sarah! I really like learning from other bloggers / sharing what they are doing well. Robb Restyle has a beautiful home page, have you noticed any differences in your user interaction when you switched to a homepage?
I loved all the blogs…very inspiring!
thank you for visiting them!
Thanks for the blog love Kristie! I wouldn’t be able to have such a thriving wonderful and professional looking blog if it wasn’t for your help!
I’m glad you’re loving your blog Kati!
Going to check them out right now 🙂
you’re a sweetheart, thanks!
