A little more about Blog Ambitions

Hi! Some of you have been around a while and have read my about page and why I blog and many of my blogging tutorials, and some of you just started following Blog Ambitions.

Today I am going to take a break from blogging tutorials and tell you a bit about me and my blog. Special thanks to Alex Beadon for encouraging me to answer these questions:

Who are you?

My name is Kristie Hill and I am the owner/editor of Blog Ambitions. (What title do you give yourself?)

I live in the Seattle area with my husband and the cutest toddler you’ve ever seen. Here’s a picture of him today while I was doing a photo shoot for an upcoming blog post:

He and Devin are the center of my life. We love laughing, playing cars, running around in the rain, and snuggling. I love being a Mom and staying home with Doran. While he sleeps, I work on this blog (I just sneaked in and took this picture of him. He opened his eyes for a second, but luckily he went back to sleep).

What most of my blogging friends don’t know about me is that I have a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture and I love everything to do with flowers.

I like to pretend that I’m super crafty, good with design, and that all of my Pinterest attempts turn out perfectly. Erin Kelly helped me realize that it’s okay that I’m not Pinterest perfect.

I am still Pinterest obsessed though. And, I think that Pinterest is a blogger’s best friend.

This year I admitted that I’m a blogging nerd and started this blog to help other bloggers be successful. You can read more about me and my journey to starting Blog Ambitions on my about page.

Why did you start blogging?

Let’s go way back to answer this questions. I started blogging as an assignment in college to create an online portfolio for my floral design work. I had one on Weebly and one on Blogger (gasp!).

Fast forward to my last semester of college when I decided I needed to learn a little bit of the online world to promote my wedding floral business. In the process of getting my wedding floral blog/site set up I discovered the business of blogging.

That’s when I started to get really excited about blogging. I wanted to do it all: couponing, recipes, crafts, motivation, blogging tips, etc. It was a lot of fun, but this year I decided to narrow in and focus on the topic I was most passionate about: blogging.

Blog Ambitions is for bloggers at any stage: people trying to decide if they should start a blog, newbie bloggers, and experienced bloggers! If you have an ambition to be a successful blogger, Blog Ambitions is for you! Here at Blog Ambitions you’ll get ideas for blog posts, learn how to make money blogging, get suggestions for improving your readers experience and other blogging tips!

What’s something you’ve been working on lately that you’re really proud of?

I am really excited about my new blogging services. I love helping bloggers start and improve their blogs! In connection to my services, I am also really pleased with my series featuring new and improved blogs! It is one of my most favorite posts to write.

What’s the one message that you hope people take away from Blog Ambitions?

You can be a successful blogger! That is the biggest thing I want my readers to know. You can do it! I want to provide you with tips, tools, and tutorials to help you take care of the technical sides of blogging. With that out of the way, you can focus on the most important part of your blog: your talents and your content.
